Arriving safely back to Denmark after spending three glorious weeks in CA, running a marathon and visiting my brother, I feel sufficiently rested to record an account of my exploits in the land of surf and sun. Jet lag has most certainly plagued me relentlessly since I've been home, but as of these last few days, it's packed up and left for other parts and other unfortunate victims. I am energized again!
One of the high points during my vacation was participating in and successfully finishing the Big Sur Marathon. Wow, what a gruelling race, but how stupendously exhilarating the rewards were for conquering and mastering the entire thing, all in one piece! Wish I could bottle those feelings I experienced after the race was over, and use them at other crucial times in my life when I require a boost of adrenaline and pride and all around self-confidence. It was the dream of a lifetime for me, and now I can bask in the delicious reality of running it and completing it.
Not to take excitement away from spending quality time with my brother, I'll rate the Big Sur Marathon as the second best activity of visiting CA. There is very little else in ones life that equals fun times spent with a sibling. We made sure to make the best of every single day during my vacation, and I travelled back home to DK without a single regret what- so-ever, that a good , great and grand time was had by all!
To all my friends in CA, either old or new, my most gracious thanks for your hospitality and companionship during my visit to your splendid and achingly beautiful State. To my brother...lets do it again soon"!
