Dear friends,

I am happy to announce I am now able to claim rightful ownership of a most esteemed title! Yes, it would seem I am to be addressed at future family functions as 'Uncle Torben'!

As of this past Sunday evening, July 15th, 2007 my sister gave birth to a charming little girl. She is a beauty and yes I may be a tad prejudiced, but I do believe that's a fringe benefit of becoming an Uncle. Apparently Uncles are automatically excused from political incorrectness regarding their new nieces and may be goofy at all times!

I am both honored and humbled at once to think that in a very short while I'll hear a sweet little voice begging Uncle Torben for all sorts of unimaginable treats. I do hope I'm up for the challenge of being a fearless and fun-loving Uncle, without spoiling my little niece so terribly, I shall feel the wrath of her parents in my sleep!

All three are doing wonderfully, Mama, Papa, and Baby. As for Uncle - he's recovering slowly!
